THE SCOOP ON RSV

 

Eric’s RX Shoppe now has the new RSV Vaccine (AREXVY) in stock, and we are now administering to anyone 60 years of age and older.

What is RSV?

RSV is a common and contagious virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms.2,3 But sometimes, RSV infection in older adults can progress to more severe disease involving the lower respiratory tract. Older adults are at increased risk for severe RSV infection, including those with certain underlying conditions.

What is AREXVY?

AREXVY is the first RSV vaccine approved for the prevention of RSV-LRTD in individuals aged 60 years and older. AREXVY is a one dose vaccine.

 

How well does AREXVY work?

Per the manufacture studies, overall efficacy against RSV is 82.6%

And 94.6% efficacy against RSV in participants with at least 1 comorbidity.

 

How much does AREXVY cost?

If you have Medicare Part D, AREXVY is fully covered with zero copay. If you do not have Medicare Part D, we anticipate full coverage from other insurers, but do not have confirmation of this because of how new AREXVY is. For cash paying customers, AREXVY cost over $300 per dose.

 

Should I get AREXVY?
